Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Katana Motors LLC handles information in the Katana MotoService application, website, and related Digital Garage services.
Information we collect
- Account and contact details such as name, email address, optional phone number, account identifier, and authentication information.
- Motorcycle information such as brand, model, VIN, registration, odometer, photos, and notes.
- Files you choose to upload, including invoices, registration, insurance, warranty, manuals, and other motorcycle documents.
- Appointment requests, requested services, workshop updates, work orders, service history, maintenance status, itemized parts and labor, costs, invoices, and loyalty activity.
- Basic technical and security information needed to authenticate and operate the service, which may include IP address, session data, timestamps, and error or request logs processed by our service providers.
The current app does not request device location, contacts, payment-card information, or an advertising identifier, and it does not include an advertising or behavioral-analytics SDK.
How information is used
We use this information to create and secure accounts, provide the Digital Garage, process workshop appointments, perform and document workshop services, provide invoices, schedule explicit service reminders, support customers, prevent abuse, and maintain the reliability of the service. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Storage, service providers, and access
Application data is stored and processed using Supabase, which provides authentication, database, private file storage, and server functions on our behalf. Website hosting, operating-system services, email, phone, maps, WhatsApp, and social-media applications may process information when you deliberately open or share through those services. Their own privacy terms then apply.
Customer-facing data is protected by account-based access controls. Authorized Katana Motors workshop administration can access customer and motorcycle information required to deliver workshop services and support. We do not allow unrelated third parties to use customer information for their own marketing.
Shared Digital Garage links
A motorcycle owner can create a revocable QR link that works without sign-in. While active, the link can show a deliberately limited motorcycle view including motorcycle details, VIN, an owner-selected motorcycle photo, explicit next-service information, and selected service-history details. It excludes the owner’s contact details, registration, prices, invoices, appointments, and private documents. Anyone who receives an active link can view that shared information until the owner revokes it.
Notifications
The app stores workshop updates and may schedule local device reminders for service dates explicitly entered by the workshop. Notification permission and delivery depend on device settings. The current release does not use notifications for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Information is retained while the account is active and as needed to provide workshop services. Customers can permanently delete their account inside the app or follow the instructions on the account-deletion page. Account deletion removes the active customer profile, garage records, appointments, service data, notifications, photos, documents, and invoice files associated with the account. Records required by tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, security, or other legal obligations may be retained separately for the required period and restricted to that purpose.
Security
Production traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections. We use authenticated access, database row-level security, private file storage, short-lived signed file links, and role-based workshop access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but access controls are reviewed and tested before release.
Your choices
You may update profile details in the app, control or revoke QR sharing, delete eligible uploads, change notification preferences, request account deletion, or contact us with a privacy or correction request.
